Blunt axle ends, RP25 contour, 0.110” tread
Half Axles are commonly used to upgrade Athearn and pre-Walthers Proto 2000 locomotives with inside frame bearings and plastic sideframes. Most of these units have stamped sintered metal wheels with a porous surface that easily collects dirt.
In contrast, JB Wheelsets Half Axles feature precision machine-turned brass wheels; they’re completely smooth, reducing dirt accumulation, and they offer superior electrical pick-up. They have either a nickel silver or a black nickel finish, and they conform to the NMRA RP25 contour standard with the standard profile width of 0.110”. Removal and replacement is easy; Half Axles come with step-by-step instructions so that you can quickly enhance the performance of your locomotives.
